Japanese Meridian Therapy
I am a hari-style practitioner. Hari is a highly refined form of Traditional Japanese Meridian Therapy (Keiraku-chiryo). Japanese Meridian Therapy (JMT) relies on a highly refined sensitivity to Ki (Qi) and non-insertive or touch-needling. JMT focuses on balancing the Ki of the body and treating the root of the disease or imbalance. There is a great emphasis placed on palpation, or diagnosing by touch. This is because traditionally in Japan, many great acupuncturists were blind and gathered all of the information they needed through palpation.
My passion for this style of medicine has led me to study with Japanese masters such as T. Koei Kuwahara and Kazuto Miyawaki. In the spring of 2015, I went on a trip to Japan to spend several weeks further studying this style with Kuwahara Sensei and his "brother acupuncturists" in Japan. Check out Cherry Blossom's Instagram feed for some pictures from the trip.

In addition to Japanese-style acupuncture, I also specialize in Chinese herbs and love combining these two modalities. Chinese herbal medicine is incredibly sophisticated because it has been used as a complete internal medicine system for thousands of years. Utilizing Chinese herbal medicine, I can treat anything from the common cold to pain to menstrual problems.
Herbs are a great way to extend the effects of treatment. I customize herbal formulas for each patient. This allows me to really match one’s needs for the best results possible--this also allows me to address both symptoms and what I believe to be the root cause of disease.
I utilize granular formulas which are a little bit like an instant tea. You'll just need to add a little warm water, stir, and drink. The bottle is small enough to take with you. It’s easy and very effective!
