How We Heal
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a sophisticated and complete medicine system. We use all of the treatment modalities below in your personalized treatment plan.
Acupuncture & Moxibustion
Acupuncture has been shown to release endorphins, oxytocin, norepinephrine and enkephalins (among others). It is like unlocking the body’s internal pharmacy to treat a wide array of conditions. In addition, acupuncture has been shown to reduce inflammation, reduce stress and promote blood flow.
Moxa, or moxibustion, is a powerful therapeutic technique that goes hand-in-hand with acupuncture. A gentle warmth penetrates your skin to nourish and move Qi and Blood while a delightful, herbal scent envelops your senses. This technique is great for pain relief and also for nourishing the entire body on a deep level.
We customize herbal formulas for each patient. Chinese herbal medicine is incredibly sophisticated because it has been used as a complete internal medicine system for thousands of years. Utilizing Chinese herbal medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic techniques, we treat anything ranging from the common cold to menstrual pain and discomfort.
Cupping & Gua Sha
We ensure our cupping therapy is a relaxing, spa-like experience. If you enjoy a deep tissue massage, you will love cupping therapy. Cupping is primarily used to increase circulation, relieve pain and release toxins and heat from the body.
Nutrition & Wellness Planning
We review your current diet and lifestyle and create a personalized nutrition and wellness plan based on your symptoms and health goals. Nutrition is a vital part of Chinese Medicine and is used as an adjunct therapy to acupuncture and Chinese herbs. What we put into our bodies is incredibly important and vital to health at the deepest level.
Tui Na & Shiatsu
We typically end each acupuncture treatment with bodywork to prepare you to return to the real world. Tui Na is a form of bodywork that has been used in China for thousands of years. Tui Na is a wonderful modality for pain and stress relief.
Shiatsu is a massage modality that originated in Japan. Meridians and acupuncture points are massaged along the body to increase the flow of Ki (breath/oxygen) and Blood. This harmonizes the body at a deep level and alleviates pain and stress.
We take a loving approach to family planning and fertility. Acupuncture can help to increase pregnancy in couples who are trying to conceive whether they are using Assisted Reproductive Technology or not. Acupuncture has been shown to increase blood flow to the ovaries and to directly affect the number of viable eggs available for treatments such as IVF.
All modalities are included in the treatment price, except herbs. Herbs are not always prescribed and vary in price, depending on the prescription.
